<p>Il Regno Unito sta seguendo lo stesso percorso, e negli Stati Uniti? La California sta seriamente pensando di <strong>introdurre la settimana corta</strong>, in un Paese dove <a href="https://themillennial.it/news/lavoro/conflitto-generazionale-mondo-del-lavoro/">la cultura lavorativa è totalizzante</a>, questa misura potrebbe davvero rappresentare una svolta, e l&#8217;esempio dello Stato baciato dal sole<strong> potrebbe fare da apripista</strong>.</p>

<p>Avere le <a href="https://themillennial.it/news/lavoro/aziende-preferite-millennial/">ferie di 6 settimane pagate</a>, e il congedo di maternità fino a 2 anni, <strong>rappresenta per gli americani <a href="https://themillennial.it/news/i-millennial-sono-in-burnout/">un vero e proprio sogno</a></strong>. Nel paese che ha inventato il capitalismo e la settimana di 40 ore, diminuire l&#8217;orario di lavoro e iniziare a prendersi cura di sé stessi e della propria famiglia <strong>vuol dire fare un grande passo in avanti</strong> in materia di tutela dei diritti.</p>
<p><a href="https://www.upworthy.com/4-day-work-weeks-could-be-in-the-near-future-if-california-gets-it-s-way" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Come riporta il magazine <em>Up Worthy</em></a>, <span class="Y2IQFc" lang="it">La California ha recentemente introdotto un disegno di legge che mira a <strong>ridurre la settimana lavorativa da 40 a 32 ore</strong>; ai dipendenti verrà data la possibilità di<a href="https://themillennial.it/lifestyle/generazione-ryanair-significato/"> restare a casa un giorno in più</a>, senza l&#8217;obbligo di dover recuperare le ore durante gli altri 4 giorni, superando le 8 ore lavorative. Il disegno di legge delinea anche come applicare gli straordinari, specificando che ogni attività che supera le 12 ore deve essere ricompensata con una <strong>doppia retribuzione</strong>. Al momento le modifiche proposte riguarderebbero <strong>solo le grandi aziende</strong>, con oltre 500 dipendenti.</span></p>

<h2>I benefici sulla salute della settimana lavorativa corta</h2>
<p><span class="Y2IQFc" lang="it">La settimana lavorativa più breve non sarebbe solo un bene per <a href="https://themillennial.it/technology-pusher/technology-pusher-lavoro-ufficio-ibrido-tecnologie/">l&#8217;equilibrio tra lavoro e vita privata</a>, ma potrebbe anche <strong>giovare alla salute mentale e fisica dei californiani</strong>. Una ricerca condotta dall&#8217;<strong>American Heart Association</strong> ha sottolineato che lavorare per oltre 10 ore al giorno e per tempi prolungati (decenni) aumenta maggiormente il <strong>rischio di ictus</strong> anche nelle persone sotto ai 50 anni. Uno studio simile completato in 14 Paesi ha inoltre rilevato che le persone che lavoravano per lunghe ore avevano il 12% in più di probabilità di diventare forti bevitori. </span></p>
<p><span class="Y2IQFc" lang="it">I ricercatori in Islanda (uno dei primi Paesi ad accorciare la settimana) hanno scoperto che quando i dipendenti lavoravano meno ore ogni settimana &#8220;si sentivano meglio, <a href="https://themillennial.it/relazioni/psico/millennial-burnout-stress-ansia-depressione/">più energici e meno stressati</a>, con il risultato che avevano più energia per altre attività, come esercizio fisico, amici e hobby&#8221;. Ulteriori vantaggi della settimana lavorativa breve includono <strong>minori costi generali</strong>: i dipendenti, ad esempio, impiegano meno giorni di malattia e <strong>la loro produttività aumenta quando sono al lavoro</strong>. Sembra quindi chiaro che una settimana lavorativa più breve abbia abbastanza vantaggi per influenzare positivamente la vita delle persone. </span></p>
