Dal 3 al 5 luglio 2023 David Bowie torna al cinema con “Ziggy Stardust”, l’ultimo leggendario show del duca bianco nei panni del suo celeberrimo alter ego

Il 3 luglio del 1973 David Bowie saliva sul palco dell’Hammersmith Odeon di Londra – davanti a 5000 fan increduli – per “uccidere” Ziggy Stardust, il suo alter ego più celebre. Una notte passata alla storia, fortunatamente filmata dal regista Donn Alan Pennebaker (Monterey Pop, Bob Dylan Don’t Look Back, Depeche Mode 101 e tanto altro ancora), che nel backstage e sul palco filmò David Bowie e gli Spiders from Mars e persino Ringo Starr, presente per una chiacchierata tra amici. Cinquant’anni esatti dopo tutto questo torna a vivere al cinema grazie a “Ziggy Stardust & The Spiders From Mars: il film”, in versione completamente restaurata. Un restauro digitale supervisionato da Frazer Pennebaker, il figlio del regista, per un film che viene proposto in modalità 4K e con audio 5.1. Alieno, rockstar, innovatore

Ziggy Stardust era nato soltanto un anno prima con l’uscita di ‘The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars’, il geniale concept-album che vedeva protagonista l’onirico e surreale Ziggy, prototipo del divo rock stravagante e androgino dai capelli rossi. Ziggy Stardust è stato fondamentale non soltanto per aver definito i nuovi perimetri del rock, ma anche e soprattutto perché ha sfidato le convenzioni di genere e ha esplorato l’androgino e l’ambiguità sessuale, introducendo un’estetica unica e provocatoria, ispirando intere generazioni. Ziggy Stardust è diventato un’icona per coloro che si sentivano emarginati o diversi, offrendo un senso di identità e appartenenza.
